Hampton Animal Control is the animal control agency for the City of Hampton, VA. We are staffed by 6 Animal Control Officers and 1 Animal Control Manager. We enforce City and State animal codes, provide animal-related education, and help to keep Hampton safe for all of our residents; human and furry. We have the authority to issue summonses for violations, to secure warrants, and to impound and seize animals. Animal Control Officers respond to complaints or reports of animal cruelty, inadequate care, animal exposures, nuisance animals, vicious animals, injured or sick animals, and strays.

Hampton Animal Control's Mission:

To provide an effective and cost efficient animal control program by active enforcement of federal, state, and local laws, the humane housing and disposal of stray/unwanted animals, and the protection of people and animals through the promotion and enforcement of responsible pet ownership.
