"Wow", that is all we can say about the great "first" full fishing season we had on the new Buckroe Fishing Pier. The fishing was hot, the weather was great and just about every fisherman and fisherwoman in Hampton Roads is talking about "The Pier". It has the finest amenities, snack bar and bait shop in the area and possibly in the state of Virginia and North Carolina. The fishing community came out in droves and was not disappointed with what they walked away with in their coolers.

As of January 1, 2010 the pier remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The only time the pier will close is during extremely bad weather i.e. Nor’easters, hurricanes etc. The City of Hampton is investigating their options as to whether or not to close the pier in January through March due to lack of fishing seasons, freezing weather and lack of visitation. At print time the City of Hampton is still working on the exact winter hours of operation.

All required fishing licensing has been purchased by the pier, so you do not have to have a license. However if you do have a current Virginia Salt Water Fishing License, you will receive $ 2 off of the adult admission, $10 off the monthly pass and $25 off of the yearly pass. The daily pass is valid anytime between 6am - 6am in a 24 hour period.
