Community Corrections

The primary goal of Community Corrections (CCD) is to provide a continuum of punitive intermediate sanctions and punishments for Hampton and Newport News Courts. Through effective treatment & intervention strategies, the CJA strives to enforce Court orders regarding offender conduct, conditions of supervision, and other obligations while encouraging behavioral change for a reduction in recidivism risk.

CCD offers:
Differential supervision to offender risk & need
Anger management counseling
Specialized services/programs as needed or ordered
Identification of wanted persons
Substance abuse treatment programming
State required screening & assessment
Appropriate level of education & treatment
