NOTICE: If you are repairing damage from an event that caused your structure to be uninhabitable for more than 30 days you may be eligible for a real estate tax abatement.

Codes Compliance's goal is to provide for safe and quality construction in both new and existing structures, while improving the appearance of the City, the health of our waterways and implementing strategies for orderly land development.

FAQ's

How do I schedule an inspection now that I have my permit?: Contact the 311 Call Center between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. When calling from within the Hampton city limits, dial 3-1-1. When calling from outside of Hampton, you must dial 757-727-8311.
When is an inspection required?: If work being done requires a permit, an inspection is usually required. The Codes Compliance Department is responsible for those inspections. They can be reached at 757-727-8311.
