• This station was built in 1945 to provide fire and ambulance service to the Wythe community.
• The response district is bounded to the west by the City of Newport News, to the south by the Hampton Roads, and to the north and east by adjacent fire districts in the City of Hampton.
• The staffing consists of 15 career firefighters on 3 shifts.
• Members of the Wythe Volunteer Fire Company (established in 1909) and the Wythe Volunteer Rescue Squad (established in 1935) are also housed here.

• Station #4 is staffed with 15 career firefighters on 3 shifts.
• The Buckroe Volunteer Fire Company (established in 1947) and the Buckroe Volunteer Rescue Squad (established in 1953) are housed here.

• The Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1922 with 14 members.
• Today, the station has 12 career firefighters assigned to three shifts along with members of the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

• The original station was completed in late 1954, with an addition in 1961.
• No changes have been made to the building since that time.
• The fire district is bound to the north by York County, to the south by West Mercury Boulevard, to the east by Fire Station #10 and to the west by the City of Newport News.
• The staffing consists of 15 career firefighters on 3 shifts.
• Additional staffing is provided by Northampton Volunteer Fire Company (established in early 1954) and the Northampton Volunteer Rescue Squad (established in 1959).

• Hampton's Willow Oaks station opened in January 1968 to provide protection to the rapidly expanding Northeast section of the city.
• Station 7's primary district includes residential, (both single-family and large apartment complexes), large and small commercial, and light industrial occupancies.
• The station is staffed by 15 career firefighters on 3 shifts.

Mail Stop 209 - Building 1248 NASA Langley Research Center 23681

• Station #8 was built in the mid 1960's.
• Located at NASA Langley Research Center, the nation's oldest research facility and first civil aeronautics laboratory, Station # 8 provides fire and EMS protection for its district, which includes NASA and residential and commercial properties in the north end of the city.
• It also provides mutual aid for neighboring Poquoson and Langley Air Force Base.
• In 1973, NASA contracted out its Fire and EMS services to the City of Hampton.
• Staffing consists of 23 personnel covering 3 shifts.

1590 Briarfield Road Hampton, VA 23666

• Dedicated October 8, 1975, Station # 9 was originally designed and built as the city's training center, as well a functioning firehouse.
• Today Station # 9 still has training activities assigned to its location but is no longer the city's training headquarters.
• Its district includes a major industrial district, heavy commercial district, and moderately populated residential district.
• Located in the southwest corner of the city, Station # 9 has a four door drive through apparatus bay with training tower, S.C.B.A. training maze, fire pumper testing facility, and garage housing S.C.B.A. compressor/cascade filling station, making # 9 one of the city's most versatile firehouses.

• Station # 10 opened in 1986 making it the City's newest fire station.
• Interstate 64 and 664 run through the district.
• The district also includes retail and commercial occupants, multi-family dwellings, retirement facilities, health care facilities, nursing homes and physician offices.
• 22 career personnel are assigned to this station on three shifts.
