Working smoke detectors give us early warning of a fire, providing extra time to escape safely. But they can't do their job if we haven't done ours - monthly testing to make sure they're working.

Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue wants you and your family to be safe from the tragic effects of fire. We offer free smoke detectors to citizens who do not have a working detector installed. We can also check your smoke detector, or replace the battery.
