- STOP where you are. Moving or running feeds the air to the flames and worsens the fire.
- DROP to the ground. Place your hands over your eyes, nose, and mouth to protect your face.
- ROLL slowly back and forth on the ground until flames are smothered.
- Seek immediate medical attention for burns.

- Once you are out of your home, don't go back in for any reason.
- If people are trapped, the firefighters will have the best chance of rescuing them. The heat and smoke of a fire are overpowering. Firefighters have the training, experience, and protective equipment needed to enter burning buildings.
