Innovations in American Government!
We´re #1! The City of Hampton´s Youth Civic Engagement initiative has been awarded the prestigious Innovations in American Government award from the Ash Institute at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and the Council for Excellence in Government.
To be selected, Hampton´s initiative was judged against over 1,000 different kinds of government programs according to its novelty, effectiveness, significance, and transferability.
The recognition confirms Hampton´s role as a leader in involving thousands of young people in meaningful roles in their neighborhoods, schools, government, and community.
The initiative is coordinated through the office of the Coalition for Youth in partnership with Alternatives, Inc. as well as numerous city departments and community organizations.
