How Do I Love You?

"I love you right up to the moon and back," Big Nut Brown Hare speaking to Little Nut Brown Hare in Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney (Candlewick Press, 1994).

In this children's book, Little Nut Brown Hare tries his very best to outdo Big Nut Brown Hare when it comes to expressing his love. He goes to sleep believing nothing can be farther than the moon in the sky. But Big Nut Brown Hare knows that no matter how far Little Nut Brown Hare's love reaches, there is always more love beyond (to the moon - and back).

A Laugh & A Hug

An Apache legend says that the Creator gave human beings (the "two-leggeds") the ability to do many things - talk, run, see, and hear. But he was not satisfied until they could do one more thing - laugh. And so the two leggeds learned to laugh. Then the Creator said, "Now you are fit to live!"

Sometimes the best way to deal with stressful situations is just to laugh, especially when we can laugh at ourselves. Often a good bear hug follows - and you can talk together again. Can you think of times when laughter helped your family deal with difficult situations? If you were making a video of your family's funniest moments what scenes would you include?
