What a mother does best is catch what is thrown and turn it around. Unfortunately, catching a thing and turning it around for your child does not make everything okay. No date for the prom, a bruised friendship, two errors in one inning, not making the cheering squad, but Mom will still be available to offer empathy and company. Her comfort, kind words, and support reminds a son or daughter at every age, "You're mine, I'm in this with you."
