Asset #23 - Homework - Young person reports doing at least one hour of homework every school day.
- Make homework a first priority!
- At least one hour per school day should be dedicated to doing homework; develop that expectation within your family.
- Provide a place to study that suits what your child or teen needs to concentrate. Discuss what that space should be like for each child.
- Establish a regularly scheduled time for doing homework.
- Suggest that your teen or child start with what he or she can manage the best (whether or not that means the most difficult or easiest assignment).
- Praise your child for completing and handing in his/her assignment. Help create a sense of accomplishment that encourages more effort and achievement.
