Friday, December 9, 2005 Asset #26 - Caring "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in your life, you will have been all of these." What most inspires a child to grow up caring about others is the caring that the child receives. Children who feel deprived of love and nurturing focus on themselves and their own needs. According to the Doubletree "Caring About America" Survey, 73 % of young people polled said parents taught them the importance of caring for others. Feeling that they have a secure base at home, these kids are more likely to venture out and pay attention to others.
