Read "Parenting is meant to produce grownups", an advice column in Tuesday´s Daily Press. The author shares some negative effects on the lives of young people who have little sense of personal power. Personal power means being in charge of themselves. Having the self-confidence to make good decisions, take control of and be accountable for their own lives. Youth need to learn they are responsible for their own behavior, their feelings and how they live their lives. You can model personal power for them – just do it!
