Serving the community is a great way to find meaning in life. There are countless ways to serve. Work with the young people to list all the possibilities they name. If they aren't ready to commit, encourage them to do a "secret service" for someone they know. Something simple like leaving a treat on a friend's desk, putting a potted plant on a neighbor's porch or taking out the trash when it's a sibling's turn (without the person knowing who did it). Giving service results in "feel good" feelings - and it's a great way to meet new people.
