- Citizens citations are presented to individuals by the Police Department for meritorious acts brought to the attention of the Crime Prevention and Community Relations Officer. With the approval of the Chief of Police, a formal presentation would be presented to the citizen either in a letter form or a plaque. Purpose is to publicly acknowledge citizens who assist the police. Crime Prevention Unit, 727-6574.

TDD Machines
- The MINIPRINT is a printing TDD (Telecommunications Device of the Deaf) that is completely portable. It has been carefully designed to be easy to use and easy to service. With this machine, Communications may now take a TDD call from any phone line. When we answer the phone if there is a tapping sound on the other end we immediately put the phone into the MINIPRINT. We type in "This is Hampton Police, May we help you?" On the MINIPRINT there is a display screen so we may see what is coming through also there is a printer so we have a copy of what is being said.
