Marcellus "Boo" Williams, Jr.
1999 Hall of Fame Inductee

Boo Williams had an outstanding basketball career at Phoebus High School in Hampton and also at St. Joseph's University before graduating in 1981, where he was later inducted into their sports hall of fame. He played professionally in Ireland and France. Boo is the leading advocate of youth basketball on the Virginia Peninsula. He formed a Summer League that includes several age groups, and his all-star teams have won numerous national titles. His many awards include Daily Press Citizen of the Year; the Outstanding Service to Mankind by the Virginia NAACP; Philadelphia Hall of Fame; Hampton University Presidential Citizenship Award; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Award; St. Joseph Ignitaus Award; Paul Harris Fellowship Award (Rotary Club); Peninsula Sports Club Person of the Year; McDonald's High School Boys All-American Selection Committee and Hoop Summit Game; Director, Nike All-American Girls Games; and Executive Committee - Junior Olympic Games.
