An electrifying runner, receiver and kicker at Virginia Tech. He was a member of Tech's "Pony Express" backfield from 1925-1928. He had many 200-plus yardage days, and in one game, the ex-Hampton High School great gained a total of 675 yards by running, receiving, punting and punt returns, and Honorable Mention All-American. He is a member of the Virginia Athletic Sports Hall of Fame. He died January 15, 1978.
