He drove D and E service runabouts "skip" to eight world inboard hydroplane competitive and straightway records from the Union of International Motor Boating, Brussels, Belgium, 1952 to 1958. His brilliant racing skill and impressive win record won him membership in the Gulf Marine Racing Hall of Fame in 1952 and 1954. His first race was July 4, 1950, in the Hampton Power Boat Association Regatta.
