Wayne Gomes
2008 Hall of Fame Inductee

Gomes is a Phoebus High School graduate. After three years at Old Dominion University, he was the fourth overall selection by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1993 Major League draft.
At the time, that was the highest an ODU player had been selected. He spent six years in the Major Leagues as a relief pitcher, primarily with the Phillies, but also with San Francisco and Boston before retiring. At ODU, he was named a Freshman All-American in 1991.
