Fall Tour de Trash SuccessNovember 4, 2009![]() The Fall Tour de Trash, which was delayed due to transportation difficulties, took place on November 3rd. Participants visited the top of Bethel Landfill, peered into the depths of the waste-to-energy plant, and had hands-on experience in deconstructing computers for recycling at ARC of the Virginia Peninsula. Tour sites included Bethel Landfill, the Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Compost Facility, the Hampton Refuse-Fired Steam-Generating Facility (the steam plant), Branscome Construction, ARC of the Virginia Peninsula, and the TFC Recycling Site. Many thanks go to the hosts of the site tours – Greg Enterline (Waste Management, Inc.), Donnie Bonivitch (VPPSA), John MacDonald (City of Hampton), Mark Minkins and Jay Lipscomb (Branscome), George Bowser (ARC), and Kathy Russell (TFC).
