Community Checkpoint Meeting Attracts Over 100 Residents
On March 8 over 100 residents attended a meeting to give input on the update effort of Hampton’s Community Plan.
The effort has been underway for the last five months with ten focus groups – waterways, economic base, good government, community appearance, public safety, education, diverse populations, community health, housing and the environment – meeting to revise the five-year-old plan. The groups, which are made up of neighborhood leaders, business owners, youth, city leaders, staff and other residents, presented summaries of their work to-date and listened to feedback from the public.
The meeting also featured break-out sessions during which residents could meet with group representatives to ask questions and suggest other topics for the groups to consider. Click here to view the presentation given at the meeting.
