Hampton Workshop Shows Businesses How to
Stay Relevant in Changed Economy
Hampton businesses are invited to attend a free workshop offered by the Virginia Small Business Development Center's Small Town and Merchant program. "Staying Relevant in a Changed Economy" is hosted by the Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center and sponsored by the City of Hampton in partnership with the Coliseum Central Business Improvement District, Downtown Hampton Development Partnership and the Phoebus Improvement League.
The program will feature a workshop in the morning and three to four one-on-one consultations with store-front business owners at their business locations in the afternoon. Businesses should come prepared to host the expert in the afternoon, if selected.

The Small Town & Merchant Program is a comprehensive collection of workshop topics, hands-on initiatives and resources designed to address the specific needs of main street retail and restaurant businesses. The purpose is to deliver targeted, relevant guidance that business owners and managers can put to use immediately as they face unique challenges ranging from inventory control, advertising, merchandising and staffing to big box competition.
