Hampton Seeks Citizen to Serve on IDA
The Hampton City Council is seeking a Hampton resident to serve on the Industrial Development Authority (IDA).
The IDA is a seven-member group of Hampton citizens and business owners appointed by Hampton City Council, tasked to promote industry and develop trade by attracting manufacturing, industrial and commercial enterprises to the city. The IDA also works to promote and encourage the creation and development of new businesses in Hampton.
Desirable applicant qualifications include knowledge or expertise gained through experience or formal education in one or more of the following areas:
- Banking and finance
- Business management
- Business planning and marketing
- Commercial real estate (agent)
- Commercial real estate development
- Community development and redevelopment
- Economics
- Legal
- Public/private developments
- Residential development
- Regional industrials (manufacturing, technology, hospitality, etc.)
- Local government structure and operations
