Elizabeth Lake Estates is an upscale neighborhood with 318 homes located on the north end of the Hampton River between Fox Hill Road and Woodland Roads. It is largely populated by active and retired military, professionals, and NASA families with younger families moving in as seniors move to other locations. In fact, many who grew up in the neighborhood are returning to buy homes there. This is a covenant community with an active Civic Association, extensive common grounds, swimming pool, swim team, and a private lake connected to the river.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Elizabeth Lakes is a friendly and charming neighborhood that is within walking distance to most schools and Willow Oaks Shopping Center. Several events are held throughout the year including an Easter Egg Hunt by the lake and a 4th of July parade through the neighborhood. The association also sponsors a yard of the month contest and have an active garden club.
HISTORY:
Elizabeth Lake Estates was established in the 1960's and has the distinction of being the first neighborhood to form a civic association in Virginia. A wide variety of single family homes continued to be built for the ensuing 20 years.
