Retirement - Virginia Retirement System (VRS)

• Employee's of the City of Hampton fall under VRS. This system is one of the best in the State, if not the world. Currently, personnel may retire with full benefits at age 50 and 25 years service. Members also receive a Hazardous Law Enforcement Supplement of currently $851.00 /month until age 65, with 20 years service.
