![]() January 30, 2010Hampton Closes Emergency Operations Center
Hampton deactivated the Emergency Operations Center at 7:00 p.m. However, city personnel continue to monitor the inclement weather situation and plow main roads and arteries. All Hampton city libraries and community centers will be closed on Sunday, January 31 due to storm conditions. Roadways are very slippery and citizens are encouraged to stay off roads. Should they need to venture on to the roadways, seatbelts should be worn at all times and vehicles should proceed with extreme caution and with headlights on. Homeless citizens are being sheltered through A Night's Welcome sponsored by Hampton Ecumenical Lodging and Provisions (HELP) throughout the storm. Hampton citizens are encouraged to stay tuned to local news, visit www.hampton.gov, dial 311 in Hampton (727-8311 outside of Hampton or from a cell phone) and stay informed by e-mail through eNews by visiting www.enews.hampton.gov. ### Media Contact: Rebecca G.
