Age and Abilities Expo in MayApril 4, 2007Senior citizens and people with disabilities face many similar circumstances. Both groups typically have important, overlapping needs arising from physical, mental, social or emotional limitations that may not be fully or easily met. Peninsula senior citizens, people with disabilities, their families, and both professional and non-professional service providers can all benefit from an opportunity to locally meet, learn, and share in a caring, informative, and entertaining atmosphere. The Age and Abilities Expo, to take place on May 4 and 5 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center will meet those needs by offering numerous educational programs and presentations, 100 display booths with exhibitors showcasing their relevant products and services, plus direct access to dozens of federal, state and local service providers. In addition, there will be interesting and entertaining demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to socialize and meet old and new friends. The event is co-sponsored by the participating Mayors' Committees for People with Disabilities and the Peninsula Agency on Aging. For more information or to register visit www.ageandabilities.com.
