Annual Town Hall Meeting

The Hampton Police Division and Chief Chuck Jordan would like to extend a personal invitation to the citizens of Hampton to attend the Annual Town Hall Meeting. The meeting will be held on December 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers on the 8th floor of City Hall.

Sergeant John Harrison and Corporal Mark Kincaid from the police division will be keynote speakers. They will be discussing the newly expanded "Project Stay Informed" using the Citizen Observer Community Notification System. Citizen Observer is a new community notification and alerting system that is being used throughout the country. Citizen Observer, when paired with Project Stay Informed, makes it possible for us to be able to deliver important neighborhood specific, as well as citywide, information to our citizens in an extremely timely manner. This information is sent out using common communications methods such as cell phone text messages, emails and an online website.

At the conclusion of Sergeant Harrison and Corporal Kincaid's presentation, personnel from the division's Community Relations Unit will speak about safety awareness tips.
