The Office of the Assessor of Real Estate to
Open New and Convenient Customer Service Center

The Office of the Assessor of Real Estate is pleased to announce the October 22 opening of a new Customer Service Center, conveniently located on the first floor of the Ruppert Leon Sargent Memorial Administration Building, adjacent to the Treasurer's Office and the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue.

The Office of the Assessor of Real Estate has maintained offices on the sixth floor of the Sargent Building since 2002, but now visitors will find a new Customer Service Center to provide many services that formerly required an elevator ride to the sixth floor. Services performed in the new center include mailing address changes, general property inquiries, obtaining copies property record cards, filing Office Review and Board of Review applications, providing access to the land book, as well as deed and title inquiries.

The Customer Service Center is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The new area consists of a public research area with computer workstations and a comfortable waiting room. The new area also includes a photographic exhibit of Hampton architecture which is the work of the staff of the Office of the Assessor of Real Estate.
