Buckroe Fishing Pier Construction Update

The Buckroe Fishing Pier project continues to progress with the construction of the wood deck, railings, ramps, and the building pilings/slab.

All pilings have been driven and all deck and railing materials are now on site. In addition, the wood beams and joists are currently being installed along the pier. When the conduits for the pier lighting and water supply are complete, the work on the wood deck and railings will begin. Work is also well underway on the steel reinforcing for the concrete beams which will support the placement of the building slab.

Construction has also begun on the improvements to the parking lot and access road from Resort Boulevard.

Construction bids will soon be received for the final phase of the pier project which will include the restaurant, bait shop and pier services building. If all goes well and the bid prices are acceptable, construction is expected to begin before the end of this year.

All phases of the Buckroe Fishing Pier project are expected to be completed by spring of 2009. Check back here for the latest updates on the pier.
