Buckroe Master Plan: The Facts

The Buckroe area in Hampton is a community with a unique history and a wealth of inherent strengths. Buckroe is also on the cusp of change. After years of transition following the closing of the Amusement Park in the 1980s, Buckroe has emerged as a highly-sought-after community. The City is interested in investing in the Buckroe community to ensure that the area meets its great potential for residents and visitors.

• Buckroe Beach and the park adjacent to the beach will remain the public center of the community.
• The fishing pier will be rebuilt.
• The beach has been replenished, effectively doubling its width.
• Unique housing will be introduced to the area.
• The boardwalk will be extended south to the fishing pier, completing the promenade along the beach.
