City Seeking Citizens for Hampton Federal Area Development Authority

The City of Hampton is seeking citizens to serve on the Hampton Federal Area Development Authority (FADA). The Hampton FADA is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, created by the Hampton City Council in order to enable more efficient cooperation with the federal government and to increase the value of federal installations in the City of Hampton.

This Board has legislative authority to work with federal activities in Hampton, with the exception of Fort Monroe.

Interested applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Hampton citizen
  • Ability to work within a group of stakeholders on complex issues
  • Understanding of the real estate market and its impact on land use decisions
  • Ability to study and evaluate the complex financial, environmental and regulatory issues associated with federal facilities
  • Willingness and ability to explain information and issues to others
