Congresswoman Thelma Drake and the City of Hampton
Host Gang Awareness and Education Forum

The Hampton Police Division would like to extend an invitation to the media to attend a Gang and Education Awareness Forum that is being hosted by Congresswoman Thelma Drake and the City of Hampton.

The event will consist of several different speakers to include Dr. Patrick J. Russo, Superintendent of Hampton City Schools, Hampton Mayor Molly Joseph Ward and Congresswoman Thelma Drake, 2nd District of Virginia.

The Forum will address the physical and behavioral attributes of gang members, specific gangs active in the City of Hampton, symptoms of gang activity in a child's behavior, and what draws youth to gang involvement. It will feature presentations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and members of the Hampton Police Division Gang Unit, in addition to a panel discussion of gang activity and prevention. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of all presenters and panelists.
