Hampton GIS Day Celebration

The public is invited to attend the City of Hampton's 2nd Annual GIS Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hampton City Hall, 6th floor, 22 Lincoln Street.

Attendees will learn how Hampton uses GIS in its daily operations and as a decision-making tool across the organization. The Map Gallery will be on display and a variety of presentations and discussions about GIS will be given.

The morning session, "GIS and You," will cover the following topics:

  • What Is GIS?
  • What Can GIS Do For Me?
  • Where is GIS Headed In The Future?

Afternoon sessions, "Innovations in GIS," will feature:

  • 1:30 p.m. - ArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabase: A Look at Hampton's Enterprise GIS Database and How It Integrates with Other City Databases
  • 2:15 p.m. - ArcGIS Server: An Overview of Hampton's ArcGIS Server Web Application
  • 3:00 p.m. - ArcReader and Google Earth: Sharing Data and Maps across the Enterprise at Minimal Cost
