Hampton Connects with Citizens through New Facebook Page

Last month the City of Hampton launched its official Facebook page for Hampton, VA. Since then over 800 people have become fans of the page, visiting the page regularly to connect with other local residents and find information on what's happening in their city.

The new Facebook page provides updates on city events and programs, links to city department Facebook pages, and opportunities for citizens to communicate with the City via social media. Hampton's new Facebook page contains a variety of features including:

  • An "I Value" tab which lets citizens know how they can get involved in the City's ongoing budget discussions.
  • A Discussions tab where citizens can express their thoughts on a variety of topics by joining a current discussion or starting one of their own.
  • A Photos tab where citizens can find a photo tour of Hampton, as well as historic city photos, and upload their own favorite snapshots of the city.

The new Hampton, VA Facebook page provides the City with yet another way to connect and engage with our citizens in a highly interactive, timely, and convenient way.

Hampton citizens and visitors are invited to become fans and join the discussion online at www.facebook.com/HamptonVA.
