![]() Hampton Heat draws hottest drivers to Langley Speedway July 12July 7, 2008Come join us for the 200-lap Hampton Heat NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Division race event at Langley Speedway on July 12. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm as the Gator Almond Band takes the stage, followed by racing at 7 pm. In addition to the Late Model Division, SuperTruck, UCar, Pro Wing Champ and Pro 6 Divisions will compete. The winning driver will receive a cash prize of $15,000 from a purse of more than $40,000. With $40,000 in prize money and a chance to compete on the track where racing greats Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Denny Hamlin began their careers, drivers from throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast are expected to participate. Admission fees for the Hampton Heat event are $10.00 Adults, $8.00 Military (Active or Retired) and Senior Citizens (60 & Over), and $5.00 Children 6-12. Admission is free for little race fans under 5. A special Family Pack admission rate of $25.00 admits 2 Adults and 2 Children. Advance tickets can be purchased in the Langley Speedway office Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm at the gate. Parking is free. Several NASCAR-themed promotions are available in Hampton race weekend, including NASCAR 3-D shown at the Virginia Air & Space Center on July 12 at 10:15 am, 11:15 am and 12:15 pm. Guests of the Holiday Inn Hampton Hotel & Conference Center and Courtyard by Marriott Hampton receive special rates when they mention "Langley Speedway" at the time the reservation is made. A longtime member of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, Langley Speedway is a .395-mile, slightly-banked oval. The track is located at 11 Dale Lemonds Dr., off North Armistead Ave., in Hampton, VA.
