Hampton Opens Emergency Operations Center

Hampton activated the Emergency Operations Center at 11: 50 a.m. this morning in response to the rising flood levels.  Low-lying areas have experienced flooding this morning and are likely to do so throughout the day.  City departments are continuing to monitor the situation as it develops.
Residents should also be alert for rising waters today and proceed with caution.   Potential for flooding roads due to weather conditions will make for difficult to drive in some areas.  Citizens are encouraged to proceed with caution.
Hampton citizens are encouraged to stay tuned to local news, visit hampton.gov, dial 311 in Hampton (727-8311 outside of Hampton or from a cell phone), stay informed by e-mail through eNews (hampton.gov/enews), and visit facebook.com/HamptonVA and twitter.com/cityofhampton for updates.
