Hampton Police Division Holiday Robbery Detail

As the holiday season approaches, the Hampton Police Division will continue to step up its efforts to deter and reduce robberies and larcenies in the City by utilizing the High Impact Policing Detail (HIP). This Detail is comprised of several uniformed officers and supervisors dedicated to interdict crimes related to violence and robbery. They will continue to work around the clock, actively and aggressively, concentrating in areas where robberies are more likely to occur.

In addition to the HIP detail on the streets, Chief Jordan has decided to utilize all sworn personnel who are assigned to headquarters to assist with the common goal of reducing crime and making the city a safer place. From the Chief down through the ranks, these officers will work closely with the HIP Detail along with our Uniform Patrol, Special Investigations Unit, Gang Unit, BID Officers and Detectives assigned to Investigative Services. To assist the HIP Detail, the above personnel will continue to work closely together in identifying target areas, assisting with surveillance operations and maintaining high visibility in the shopping and business areas throughout the City.

In support of the Division's mission of providing for a safe and enjoyable experience during the holidays for all of the City's visitors, citizens and businesses, this detail will continue to promote an enhanced police presence, robbery prevention and the swift apprehension of offenders.
