![]() July 17, 2008Make-Your-Own-Rain-Barrel Workshops - Last Chance This SummerWorkshops on making your own rain barrel will be offered August 2nd, 8th, 9th, and 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. by the Hampton Master Gardeners and the Hampton Clean City Commission. Each rain barrel will cost $35, which includes a clean barrel, hardware, screen, and fasteners. Payment must be presented upon arrival at the workshop in the form of check, money order, or cash. The workshops will be held at Bluebird Gap Farm, 60 Pine Chapel Road, in the red shed next to the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden and Arboretum. Participants are asked to bring gloves, a flashlight, and pliers (either crescent or lock variety) and to arrive in a vehicle large enough to transport a 50 - 55 gallon barrel (2 ft in diameter by 40 inches high). Casual "garden" clothes and sturdy shoes are recommended. These workshops are in high demand, so register right away! Only pre-registered participants will be included the workshop!
