This designation is recognized by the destination industry as its highest educational achievement and is a qualifying credential for senior-level destination professionals. "I am extremely honored that the city of Hampton afforded me this phenomenal professional development opportunity," Jowers said. "I look forward to employing the visioning, leadership, business, and strategic planning processes learned to benefit the city that I call home." Jowers, a 30-year employee of the City of Hampton, holds a degree in information system technology, a Microsoft Certified Professional designation, and has over 15 years of experience marketing the city of Hampton as a tourism and meetings destination. The City of Hampton's Community & International Relations department provides citizens and employees with comprehensive updates on strategic and quality of life initiatives, emergency planning, diversity education, and civic involvement.
