Mayor's Civic Improvement Awards

At the recent Mayor's Civic Improvement Awards ceremony, Mayor Ross Kearney recognized community partners who have "gone the extra mile" and made a contribution to the physical appearance of our city.

This year's winners are Baylor Construction (Hampton Roads Pediatrics), Cracker Barrel, Cornerstone Church, Courtyard by Marriott, Embassy Suites Hotel, Freedom Ford, Gates of Heaven Church, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, Grobel Law Offices, HPT-NN Community Services Board, Hampton Family Practice, Hampton Roads Center North Entrance, Hampton Roads Convention Center, National Institute of Aerospace Building, NASA Langley Entrance, Sandy Bottom Nature Park, Taco Bell, Texas Steak House & Saloon, Tysinger Automotive, and Zion Baptist Church.

This recognition effort, initiated over 20 years ago, stresses that pride in our community is the cornerstone of a healthy and vibrant city. Investment in the city's physical appearance attracts new development and residents to our city, and helps to increase property values.
