Ongoing Construction Brings Three New Buildings
to the Peninsula Town Center
Buildings A1 and A2 - Liner structures on the front of Macy’s that will feature a variety of retail stores. Both of these structures are very close to completion, with sidewalks and site lighting at 97% and the Certificate of Occupancy pending.
Building B – The project’s principal residential structure on second, third and fourth floors above retail to feature 159 luxury apartments. As of late September, the wood framing was at 99%, and the roof and windows were at 90% and 95%, respectively. The mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations had reached between 80% and 95% completion on all floors.
Buildings D & E – Buildings located in the center of the property that will house retail and restaurants. By late September, the interior framing, drywall and doors of both buildings were nearing completion, along with the mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations.
Building F – Will house the Barnes & Noble store on its bottom floor and offices above. Building F features advanced tilt-wall construction, where the walls are assembled on site and then raised into place. As of late September, the exterior framing was complete and the interior framing was at 97%. Storefront framing and glazing, along with mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations have made significant progress, preparing the building for its interior build-out.
Building H – A three-story building consisting of retail (first floor) and office space (second and third floors). Construction began in July, and the tilt wall framework was nearly complete by month’s end. Progress is now being made on the structural steel component of the building, which is at 70% completion.
Building J – Will be occupied by Lenscrafters and other small tenants. By late September, the building was almost complete, and sidewalks were being installed. A Certificate of Occupancy is currently pending.
North Parking Garage – This structure, which can be seen from Cunningham Drive, is close to 100% complete. Construction of the bridge that will connect the garage to the residential units (Building B) will begin in the coming months.
Target – Target will be located at the South end of the property and will be seen from West Mercury Boulevard. As of late September, design plans were approved, keeping the project on schedule. The land has been cleared and construction is expected to begin soon.
On the north side of the project, landscaping is nearing completion, with the planting of trees and the installation of irrigation systems and sod. Final plans are being made for two of Peninsula Town Center’s public parks, which will be located between Building E and Barnes & Noble and Building D and Macy’s.
