Construction Underway at Peninsula Town Center's Target Store

With the commencement of construction of the Target store, Peninsula Town Center continues to come to life. The site was turned over to Target in late September, and construction has proceeded with a scheduled opening of Summer 2009. With buildings D, E and H close to completion, the center's Phase One opening is within close reach. The following are updates on the remaining PTC buildings:
Peninsula Town Center New Buildings

Buildings A1 and A2 - Liner structures on the front of Macy’s that will feature a variety of retail stores. Both of these structures are very close to completion, with sidewalks and site lighting completed.  Steel gates are at 98%, and the Certificate of Occupancy is pending.
 
Building BThe project’s principal residential structure on second, third and fourth floors above retail to feature 159 luxury apartments. As of late October, the wood framing was at 99%, and the roof and windows were at 99% and 97%, respectively.  The brick masonry was at 75% and the mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations had reached between 97% and 99% completion on all floors, with the expected opening in the spring of ’09.
 
Buildings D & E – Buildings located in the center of the property that will house retail and restaurants. By late October, the roofing was complete and the interior framing, drywall, doors of both buildings and the mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations were at 99%.

Building F
Will house the Barnes & Noble store on its bottom floor and offices above.  Building F features advanced tilt-wall construction, where the walls are assembled on site and then raised into place. As of late October, the exterior and interior framing was complete.  Storefront framing and glazing was complete and the mechanical-electrical-plumbing installations were at 99%, preparing the building for its interior build-out.

Building H –
A three-story building consisting of retail (first floor) and office space (second and third floors).  Construction began in July, and the tilt wall framework was nearly complete by month’s end.  Progress is now being made on the structural steel component of the building, which is at 97% completion.
 
Building JWill be occupied by Lenscrafters and other small tenants.  By late October, the building was almost complete, with sidewalks at 100%. A Certificate of Occupancy is currently pending.
 
North Parking GarageThis structure, which can be seen from Cunningham Drive, is complete.  Construction of the bridge that will connect the garage to the residential units (Building B) will begin in the coming months.

Target – Target will be located at the South end of the property and will be seen from West Mercury Boulevard.  As of late October, design plans were approved, keeping the project on schedule.  The land has been cleared and construction has begun, with a scheduled opening of summer ’09.
