Enormous Need for Foster
Parents in Hampton Roads

While the holiday season has come to a close, many families have wonderful memories to look back on. However, there are many foster children here in Hampton Roads whose memories were not so happy.

Social Services is encouraging families that are able to maintain themselves emotionally and financially to take in a foster child. Such families offer a valuable model for foster children.

Participants do not need to own a home or have a lot of money to give the gift of a stable home environment to a child. To offset the costs, stipends are allotted for families that take in foster children. In general, time commitments can be anywhere from a few weeks to 18 months.
