Temporary Policy Changes to Assist Residents
During The Nor'easter Clean-up

Due to the storm-related damage throughout Hampton a number of changes will be in effect over the next few weeks to assist citizens in clean-up.

  • Solid waste/debris placed at curbside for removal can be placed there at anytime through November 28.  Citizens are not required to comply with the normal restrictions on placing debris at curbside at 3:00PM prior to the scheduled pick-up day for this time period only.

  •

  • Disposal of construction debris by Hampton residents (proof of residence required) at the landfill is free through November 30.

  • Residents whose homes were damaged by the storm and need to park a POD unit or similar storage container on the street or at another location in their yard will not be charged a permit fee and will not be required to post bond.  However, the company providing the container must provide proof of insurance (if container is placed on the street).  In addition, the 30 day limit on PODs is being relaxed for storm-related clean-up.

  • City Council passed an ordinance on November 18 waiving building permit fees for those structures damaged by the storm.

For additional information or clarification on these storm-related issues please contact 311 in Hampton or 727-8311 outside of Hampton or from a cell phone.
