FROM JAVA TO SOAP, HAMPTON WELCOMES THREE NEW
MINORITY AND WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESSES
Hampton, VA - Java Junkies, KingsWay Physical Therapy and Soapalooza might not offer similar products or services, but they do share commonality. Not only are all three minority and woman-owned businesses, but they also now all call Hampton home.
Downtown Hampton java drinkers have a new coffee shop to frequent with the opening of Java Junkies, located at 768 Settler's Landing Road. A grand opening celebration featuring complimentary food and drinks took place Feb. 11.
The shop offers good food in a cozy atmosphere. Menu items include sandwiches, salads, soup, coffee and specialty drinks. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. This is a second coffee shop for owner Cindy Coyle of Virginia Beach. KingsWay Physical Therapy, owned by Shola Asenuga, is scheduled to open March 19. The clinic is located at 208 Fox Hill Road, Suite B and will offer a variety of services to include:
- Out-patient orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation
- Sports and fitness screenings and sports specific training
- Physical therapy education through clinical internships and volunteer programs
- Speaking engagements and seminars
- Consultant services to include on-site fitness and ergonomic consulting

Luxury handcrafted soap maker Kelly Bloom opened Soapalooza in November 2008 at 3411 Old Armistead Avenue in Hampton. All soap sold is handmade in small batches using the finest ingredients.
