Rhet Tignor Appointed To Virginia Urban Policy Task Force

Hampton City Councilman Rhet Tignor has been appointed to the Virginia Urban Policy Task Force by Governor Timothy M. Kaine. Rhet Tignor

The task force responsibilities are to develop a comprehensive state urban policy that will address a variety of challenges that urban communities face. These include but are not limited to economic development, education, transportation, public safety, and human services.

Tignor has served on the Hampton City Council since July 2000 and is the owner of Rhet Tignor Business Forms Company.

Tignor also holds a variety of memberships and affiliations including the Executive Committee of the Virginia Municipal League; founding Vice Chairman of the Virginia First Cities Coalition; Vice Chairman of the Hampton Roads Regional Jail Board of Directors; Citizen Advisory Board Member of the Hampton Correctional Facility; Board Member of the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula; Board Member of the Downtown Hampton Child Development Center; Fox Hill Athletic Association; and a contributing Gold Life Member of the NAACP.
