Join Hampton Parks and Recreation as they welcome the award-winning Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO) and the Chicago based American Symphonietta to Buckroe Beach Park on Saturday, July 1st at 7 PM for a presentation of their stellar program!
Fresh from their joint performance at the famed Lincoln Center, the VYSO and the American Symphonietta will astound you with a fresh and exciting concert of first-run Movie Music and hits from Broadway! This summer, they are embarking on their biggest adventure yet - a joint concert tour in China - and this concert is your opportunity to preview their tour! (Both orchestras, under the direction of Music Director Robert Ian Winstin, will be performing by invitation in Beijing & Shanghai China later this summer.)
The VYSO and the American Symphonietta have recorded over seven commercially released CD's between them and have won numerous awards - including several Videographer's Awards for their concert videos. They have traveled and performed in Florence & Rome - with a Command Performance for Pope John Paul II - Toronto, Athens, Paris, London, New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center.
