When a large capital expenditure is needed for the construction or renovation of the City's infrastructure, Engineering Services is responsible
for managing the project to ensure compliance with design, construction, fiscal, and scheduling commitments.
In FY 2010 Engineering Services is managing 70 capital improvement projects with a total value of 70 million dollars. These projects include Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) urban highway projects in the city.
