City of Hampton Nature Resources

The City of Hampton is located at the tip of the Virginia Peninsula in the Hampton Roads area. Hampton is an area of bountiful natural resources and is home to an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty. The city has a diversity of habitats, from marine to upland forest and represents a unique area for environmental studies. The resources of Hampton have been utilized over the years for the purposes of fishing to farming to recreational activities. The city presents a wonderful opportunity for its citizens and visitors alike. As land areas succumb to development, it is necessary to be creative in preserving what resources are left remaining. This includes working with developers to incorporate natural areas.
